CTFD Staff
Pamela oversees the activities and direction of the Center for Teaching and Faculty Development. A San Francisco State University faculty member since 1993, Pamela has served on a number of all-university committees, including two terms as chair of the Academic Senate. Immediately prior to her appointment in Center for Teaching and Faculty Development (CTFD), she was professor of classics and chair of the departments of Classics and Comparative and World Literature. Pamela received her B.A. in classics from St. Olaf College and her Ph.D. in classics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Pamela Vaughn, with Center for Teaching and Faculty Development (CTFD) Advisory Board chair Amy Love (English), presented at the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning on "The Accessibility Connection: Universal Design for Learning," October 2008, Edmonton, Canada. She also attended the California State University (CSU) Faculty Development Directors' meeting at California State University CSU Fullerton where, among other things, the group worked on a California State University (CSU) Strategic Plan for Faculty Development.
Jeannie provides instructional design and organizational development support for faculty at SF State. She assists faculty in striving for teaching excellence by assessing learning needs as well as by designing and implementing Center for Teaching and Faculty Development (CTFD) workshops. She also conducts consultations with faculty and faculty groups regarding faculty development activities, and works closely with the Associate Dean on the implementation of grants and the coordination and management of specific faculty development awards, such as the Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity awards. Jeannie is also actively involved in many new California State University (CSU) training initiatives such as Ensuring Access through Collaboration and Technology (EnACT) Universal Design for Learning, the Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching (MERLOT) ELIXR project and the Transforming Course Design project.
Recent Staff News for Jeannie Cheng
Jeannie attended the 2008 Professional and Organizational Development Network in Higher Education (PODNetwork) in October and the California State University (CSU) Teaching for Student Success: Train the Trainers Workshop in November 2008 (Student Writing and Assignment Design and Classroom Civility). She also presented the Overview of Universal Design for Learning to the 30 student teachers in Special Education section 770 (SPED770) Mild/Moderate Disabilities in October 2008.
Meg is an associate instructional designer assisting the team with institutional research on effective teaching and assessment, developing faculty workshops, procuring faculty resources for professional advancement, and publications. She has taught History, Psychology, and Media and Ethics at the secondary and college levels, including one semester at the University of Rostov, Russia. She has also worked as a Director of Curriculum and Professional Development and Assistant Principal. She holds a BA in Religious Studies, an MA in History and received her ED.d. from University of San Francisco in 2003.
Recent Staff News for Meg Gorzycki
Meg's activities for 2008 included presenting a workshop at the California State University (CSU) regional workshops in Pomona in May (Integrating Ethical Thinking Across the Curriculum) and participating in the California State University (CSU) Faculty Developer's Planning Session in April 2008 and in the "Train the Trainer's Workshop in Long Beach California State University (CSU) November 2008 (Student Civility and Writing assgnments for Students). In February 2009, Meg spent a week in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia conducting the Best Practice in the University Classroom faculty development program for Prince Sultan University.
Bob's duties include technical support and assistance for Center for Teaching and Faculty Development (CTFD), creation of graphic design production for all media materials (including the layout for The Garden), database maintenance, web development and management, and ensuring the Center meets accessibility requirements for all projects. Before becoming a full-time staff member, Bob received degrees from SF State in the fields of psychology and business marketing.

Bob kept busy in 2008 by attending the 3rd annual California Web Accessibility Conference (CalWAC) held in Long Beach in January 2008 as well as the QCon software developers conference held in San Francisco in November 2008.
Kelli edits and writes much of The Garden, and is responsible for writing and editing Center for Teaching and Faculty Development (CTFD) promotional materials. She earned a B.A. in Classics and Art History, and a M.A. in Classics from SF State.
Recent Staff News for Kelli Stanley
Kelli is a mystery author. Her first novel, Nox Dormienda (A Long Night for Sleeping), was published in late July, 2008, and is currently in its third printing. Kelli was most recently the winner of Left Coast Crime's 2009 Bruce Alexander Memorial Historical Mystery Award for her novel.
