Lead: John Elia and Ivy Chen, Health Education Department
Date and Time: Friday, August 21, 2009 at 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM
Location: Burk Hall 229

Teaching large classes can be daunting, and demands not only careful preparation, but a different way of thinking. This session will discuss how to lecture effectively, encourage meaningful class discussions, assign strategic writing assignments, and manage the overall logistics of a large class. It will also include tips on maintaining and encouraging engagement, student/teacher interaction, and how to most effectively employ and mentor your teaching assistant (TA).
