Creating Accessible Documents
Lead: Bob Moyce, Center for Teaching and Faculty Development
Date and Time: Friday, August 21, 2009 at 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Location: Burk Hall 210
In this hands-on session, participants will learn the basics of accessibility and how to use the built-in tools within Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat Professional to create accessible documents for their students. Providing accessible instructional materials is a best-practice of Universal Design for Learning and helps ensure your courses meet the Accessible Technology Initiative requirements. Following a brief overview of the importance of providing accessible instructional materials, a step-by-step tutorial will show participants how to properly structure and format a document for accessibility compliance.
The Center for Teaching and Faculty Development is dedicated to ensuring equal access to everyone. To request disability accommodations for any CTFD sponsored event, please either call the Center at 415.338.6456 or e-mail the Center at ctfd@sfsu.edu at least two weeks prior to the event.
